About Home Assist/Secure

Home Assist/Secure aims to remove some of the practical housing related difficulties experienced by older people and people with disabilities who wish to remain living in their home by providing:

• Information and referral about home maintenance, repairs, minor modifications and home security
• Subsidised assistance for eligible people who are unable to obtain alternative assistance with minor home maintenance which relates to their health, safety and security.
• Home security where staff trained by Queensland Police Service can inspect your home to help you decide on security related repairs and installations.

Who can use the program?

To be eligible for this program you must be a home owner or live in rental housing and be:

• 60 years of age and over or
• Of any age with a disability
