Centacare Council

Centacare Brisbane draws its mission and vison from the vision and priorities of the Archdiocese of Brisbane.

The Centacare Council is responsible for the overall corporate governance of Centacare including its strategic direction, management goals and financial reporting. The council has delegated responsibility for the everyday management of Centacare to its executive director and executive management.

Council's Role

  • Is accountable for exercising its responsibilities mandated by the Archdiocese of Brisbane
  • Considers with the executive director new social services needs of the archdiocese that are consistent with Centacare's mission and vision.
  • Exercises due diligence, fiduciary responsibility and ensures that risk is identified and managed

The constitution of Centacare specifies that council members are appointed and removed by the Archbishop. Members bring to the council a broad range of experience and competence in the areas of social policy, community service delivery, pastoral care, Catholic social teaching, management, law and finance.
