Centacare oversees Catholic hospital chaplaincy in government hospitals; private hospitals owned and operated by the Uniting Church in Australia (Queensland Synod); and other non-Church private hospitals throughout the Brisbane archdiocese. In all, around 100 professionally trained pastoral carers/chaplains minister to the spiritual needs of patients, their families and staff in more than 30 hospitals.
Pastoral carers/chaplains can offer on request a listening ear, companionship and the sacraments of the Church. Health care professionals recognise their valuable contribution to the holistic healing of patients and their families as part of the health care team.
If you require a Catholic priest to visit a family member or friend, please contact the hospital's main number contained in the download
below, or ask one of the nursing staff to contact the hospital switchboard for you.
