Prison Ministry
Catholic Prison Ministry (CPM) responds to the issues faced by people affected by the criminal justice system, i.e. in court, prison, community corrections, families and wider community.
CPM encourages personal and social change which promotes and helps to maintain human dignity and peaceful communities. Programs are funded by Department of Communities (Queensland).
Services
- Court Support Program provides support and information to persons involved in the court system enabling defendants to participate more fully in the legal process. Victims of crime are also supported by the Court Support program.
- Liferaft supports families and friends of men and women in prison
- Reintegration Support Program works with Centacare Employment Group to assist former prisoners to gain and remain in meaningful employment
