Hospital Chaplaincy
Many other lay volunteers are trained through an accredited course to serve as hospital pastoral carers/chaplains. Centacare funds a limited number of part-time remunerated pastoral care/chaplaincy positions as well as a volunteers' reimbursement scheme. Pastoral carers and chaplains are supported through vibrant team members, an annual Centacare retreat day, workshops and seminars. Prison Chaplaincy
The State Chaplaincy Board oversees the accreditation and ongoing support of prison chaplains. Accredited chaplains are supported through monthly group supervision, a monthly meeting and annual in-service. They receive partial reimbursement of expenses.
