Lifestyle support is individually designed to suit the person’s physical and/or intellectual needs to live a life of quality and choice in the community.
The service actively promotes independence and assists individuals to develop networks and supports to enable them to live as valued members of the community
Support is provided in the areas of:
- Personal Care
- Assistance with maintaining a home
- Assisting individuals with their finances
- Encouraging and supporting growth and development where appropriate
- Working towards having a life that is rich, full and embedded in the community
- Facilitating and maintaining relationships with family, friends and others
This support service is operated under the Northside Disability Centre.
OASIS
OASIS supports adults with physical, intellectual, psychiatric, sensory and/or multiple disabilities in the lifestyle of their choice.
- Developing positive relationships with their families, friends and community members.
- Provision of the best quality personal and health care to suit their needs and ensuring that support is able to adapt to changing needs particularly as the person grows older or health deteriorates.
- Community access and development of opportunities in local area.
- Providing staffing for periods of time where additional support may be required.
- Developing communication systems as a means to express their choices in their daily lifestyles
- Ensuring that their lives do not become institutionalised.
This program is operated under the Southside Disability Centre. It is offered in the Logan and Gold Coast regions.
SAIL (Supported Accommodation and Independent Lifestyles)
Services offered are:
- Supporting people with physical disabilities to live independently in the community in the accommodation of their choice, on the Southside of Brisbane.
- Individualised to meet their needs.
- Developed to promote and facilitate the individual being assisted so he/she may make decisions and exercise choice.
- Designed to facilitate the continued development of their personal competencies.
- Designed to recognise the persons right to privacy and confidentiality, and reinforces their dignity and value as an active member of the community.
Ulysses
Ulysses supports adults with physical, intellectual, psychiatric, sensory and/or multiple disabilities in the lifestyle of their choice.
