Mission and Vision
Mission
To promote a positive perception by society of people who are aged or have disabilities.
- To strive for all persons who are involved in the services [staff, persons being assisted, families etc.] feel valued.
- To facilitate community participation.
- To safeguard against institutional practices.
- To make a positive difference to the life of persons being assisted.
- To enable persons to live individualised lifestyles in accordance with their own aspirations and choices.
- To facilitate the maintenance of existing, and the development of new relationships which have value and meaning for the person.
- To establish structures which enable those most vulnerable and powerless to have a voice.
- To acknowledge that persons who are impaired have the same rights and responsibilities as persons who are not impaired.
- To facilitate educational and on-going sharing of information.
- To promote an environment of harmony and loyalty.
Vision
"To be the eyes ears, conscience and voice of social response in the Archdiocese" by:
- Listening to expressed needs of people with disabilities/families
- Responding to needs with creative solution and options
- Commitment to individualised support in leading a quality lifestyle, changing according to the needs of the person.
- Optimism that the person will develop throughout their life with our positive expectations and an individual respect for person.
- Assistance should be empowering people (to develop, experience love and relationships, to contribute to society and others, etc).
- Staff committed to learn and grow with the service and take responsibility for outcomes.
