The Apostleship ot the Sea (AOS) is a Catholic mission for seafarers. It's members visit over 1700 ships on the north and south side of the river each year. AOS ministers to all, including sacramental ministry to the 35% of seafarers who are Catholic. AOS buses bring seafarers to the Wynnum Centre which opens 15 hours a day, 6 days a week, staffed by 30 volunteers from nearby parishes. The Centre provides telephone and Internet resources helping seafarers maintain contact with their families.
