Services

Twelve Services operate across South East Queensland. These services broadly fit within two categories of Accommodation and Lifestyle Support Services and Learning and Leisure Services provided to adults and young adults with a disability and their families.

Administration Centres

There are two regional centres for the administration of Centacare Disability Services. These are:

Goals

Disability Services are aimed at assisting people to leave large institutional care settings as well as preventing premature admission into residential or congregate care nursing homes and hostels. Individuals are supported to lead independent lives in the community.

Background

The Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Brisbane commenced Centacare Disability Services in 1985 with the introduction of the Disability Services Act and the Home and Community Care Act. Prior to this, Religious Orders had provided institutional care.

Funding

Government funding from both Commonwealth and State Government Departments provide for staffing and administration. Our organisation is an Equal Opportunity Employer and our services are provided on a non-denominational and non-discriminatory basis.
